the philosophy

Over the last 10 years of filming weddings, I’ve figured out that the magic isn’t in the staged poses or perfectly organized moments—it’s in the real, unscripted stuff. Like the way someone’s eyes light up when they see their partner, the way hands instinctively find each other in the chaos, or the kind of laugh that makes your face hurt. Those are the moments that stick—the ones people actually care about and the ones that tell the real story.

Every couple has their own vibe, their own rhythm—like a song that’s completely unique but still gives you that this-is-my-jam feeling. That’s what I’m here for: to dig into what makes your story yours. I’m not just here to make a pretty film for Instagram (although, trust me, it’ll look good there too). My job is to get to know you, figure out what matters most to you, and make sure your people, your moments, and your love are captured in a way that’s 100% authentic.

When you reach out, we’re not jumping straight into logistics. First, we’ll hop on a Zoom call so I can get a feel for you as a couple. How’d you two meet? What made you fall for each other? What’s your wedding vibe—chill backyard party, adventure elopement, or full-on weekend extravaganza? What do you love doing together? Who and what are most important in your life? And hey, if you’ve got a shared obsession with obscure indie bands, Saturday morning coffee rituals, or a dream of running off to the mountains—tell me! I want to hear it all, because those little details are the secret sauce that makes your film feel like you.

on your wedding day

1. I’m there to capture the most intimate moments, but I never want to steal the spotlight. I’ll be appropriately dressed (don’t worry, no Hawaiian shirts unless that’s your vibe) and will treat every moment with respect, working hard to stay out of the way and not be a distraction.

2.  I’ll arrive bright and early, ready to go, with your itinerary and vision locked in. Communication is my jam, so I’ll have already sent you questionnaires, had a vision meeting, and chatted with your planner and vendor team. Basically, I’ll be as prepared as someone about to run a wedding-day marathon—but with cameras instead of sneakers.

3. You’ll never have to stress about being in front of the camera. I take the time to get to know you, so being yourselves with me feels natural. That’s the beauty of my Story Sessions—they’re like a warm-up round where we get comfortable together. When the big day comes, I’m ready to step in with some guidance when you need it or just step back and let love do its thing.

4. Throughout the day, I’ll not only be organized and ready for the big moments, but I’ll also have my radar up for the small, beautiful ones that might otherwise go unnoticed. The hugs with guests who traveled far, the sweet cheek kisses from grandparents, the happy tears during vows and letters, and every other little moment that makes your day one to remember.

the artistic process

Storytelling is an art, and it’s something I’m always working on—learning, experimenting, and pushing myself to get better with every wedding. There’s always something new to discover, and I’m all about growing to make each film more meaningful than the last.

When I get home from your wedding, the very first thing I do is backup all your footage in multiple places. Seriously, nothing is more important—those moments are precious, and I’m not taking any chances. From there, the real magic begins. I spend hours sorting through every clip, every shot, and every angle—hunting for the meaningful, the funny, the emotional, and everything in between.

Music and sound are where the vibe really starts to come together. That’s why I love hearing about your taste in music and the songs that mean something to you. Those little details help make your film feel personal. Then there’s color—it’s like the finishing touch that gives the film that nostalgic, warm-you-right-up feel. I pour a ton of energy into getting the colors just right because they set the mood and bring it all to life.

I take my time going through everything I captured—piecing together the big moments, the tiny details, and all the in-betweens. My goal? To create something that brings you right back to your wedding day every time you watch it. I want you to feel those emotions all over again—laugh, cry, and maybe even notice moments you didn’t catch the first time around.

It’s super important to me that your film feels like you through and through. This editing process takes time (we’re talking 100+ hours on average), but it’s so worth it. Because I dedicate so much time and energy to each story, I only take on a limited number of weddings each year. It’s all about making sure every couple gets the care, attention, and one-of-a-kind film they deserve.

frequently asked questions

I live in Sacramento, CA! I love living in midtown, but what I really love is how centrally located I am to all the amazing different types of landscapes that California has to offer. Less than two hours in either direction gets me up on top of a breathtaking mountain or down on a beautiful beach. That being said I’ve spent many years traveling all over filming skateboarding so I love me a good lil adventure, and would be so down to travel anywhere you want me to capture your day!

My videography packages are designed to cover a range of needs and preferences. Typically, they include full-day coverage from preparations to reception, a highlight reel, a feature-length film, a ceremony film, and digital delivery of your videos. Each package can be customized to include additional features like Super 8 film, a toast film, rehearsal coverage, or extra hours.

My approach is discrete and documentary-style. I focus on capturing the day as it naturally unfolds without interfering. This allows me to capture all the candid, authentic moments of joy, emotion, and love throughout your day, creating a true and timeless representation of your wedding.

To ensure availability for your special day, it’s best to book me as soon as you have your date and venue confirmed. I recommend booking at least 6 to 12 months in advance, especially during peak wedding seasons.

The turnaround time for your wedding film typically ranges from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the season and complexity of your project. I take great care in the editing process to ensure every moment is captured beautifully, paying close attention to detail to create a cinematic experience that truly reflects the essence of your special day. I appreciate your patience as I work to deliver a product that exceeds your expectations.
